Artist Statement

All forms of life exist in wavelike states. Movement reminds us that we are alive, that energy never ceases but only shifts, refracts, and reverberates through different forms. This exhibition explores the constancy of movement and the ubiquity of vibration — the subtle currents that bind us to the world and to one another.

Water, as both subject and metaphor, becomes the vessel through which I study this phenomenon. Its fluidity, its capacity to mirror and distort, its ceaseless state of becoming — all speak to the essence of life’s pulse. In these works, I transpose images of water onto novelty fabrics and flattened metals, materials chosen for their reflective, tactile and enduring qualities. The tension between these surfaces — between natural motion and manufactured stillness — invites the viewer to sense rather than simply see vibration.

Ultimately, this body of work seeks not to depict water but to embody its behavior: absorption, reflection, diffusion. By transforming these materials, I seek to punctuate the transcendent truth that everything moves, even in stillness; everything vibrates, even in silence.
